Forgotten Food - Black Rice Porridge Recipe (Ganji)

This forgotten food has a nutty flavor. Black rice grain is chewy by nature and is best to prepare porridge, cake and pudding.  

Cooking Black Rice porridge or ganji is very simple and easy.

You need the following ingredients for the recipe:

Black rice rava - 3 tsp
Water - 2 cups
Cumin - 1 tsp
Garlic - 8 to 10 pods
Green Chilly - 3 
Curry leaves 
Coriander
Cooking oil
Salt to taste

How to cook:

Step 1 - Add 2 cups of water and 3 tsp of black rice rava in a pressure cooker. Mix well.

Step 2 - Steam the pressure cooker for 2 whistles.

Step 3 - Saute garlic, cumin, slit green chillies and curry leaves in oil for seasoning.

Step 4 - Open the cooker, add salt, the above seasoning and fresh coriander and mix well.

Step 5 - Stir in medium flame until desired consistency.

Step 6 - Serve hot and Savour!
