🌾 The Origin Story The millets in this batter combo are grown by small and marginal farmers in Tamil Nadu using traditional, chemical-free farming methods — the same heritage practices that gave us Kanchi idly and Madurai's soft idly generations ago. These grains were nearly lost to the Green Revolution, replaced by high-yield crops that demanded synthetic inputs and depleted the soil.
At Forgotten Foods, we work with farmers who practice natural farming — no pesticides, no chemical fertilizers, no GMOs. Every bite of these idlies carries the flavour of a tradition worth preserving, and supports a farmer healing the land, one harvest at a time.
Recognised by Startup India as a mission-driven food brand reviving India's forgotten grain heritage.
