Ingredients (serves 8 people)
Forgotten Foxtail millet – 1/2 cup
Moong Dal – 1/2 cup
Onion – 2 tsp
Tomato – 2 tsp
Green chillies – 3 pcs
Cumin (Jeera) – 1/2 tsp
Oil – 2 tsp
Pumpkin seeds (optional)
- Wash and clean 1 cup of Foxtail millet and pressure cook it with 2 cups of water.
- Chop the Onions, Tomatoes and Green chillies.
- Thoroughly mix the cooked millet with 1 cup of Moong dal, chopped veggies, cumin, salt, pepper, oil and 6 cups of water and pressure cook it for 4 whistles.
- After pressure cooking, squeeze and mix few drops of lemon and garnish it with coriander leaves, oregano, roasted pumpkin seeds and cream (optional).
