Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Raktasali rice (soaked for 6-8 hours)
  • ¼ cup urad dal (black gram, soaked for 4-6 hours)
  • ¼ cup beaten rice poha
  • 1 tsp fenugreek seeds (soaked with the rice)
  • Salt to taste
  • Water (as needed)
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions:

  1. Drain the soaked Raktasali rice, urad dal, poha and fenugreek seeds. Grind them together with water to make a smooth batter. The batter should have a medium-thick consistency.
  2. Transfer the batter to a bowl, add salt, and mix well. Let it ferment overnight or for 8-10 hours in a warm place.
  3. After fermentation, stir the batter and adjust the consistency by adding a little water if needed.
  4. Heat a dosa tawa (griddle) and lightly grease it with oil. Pour a ladle of batter onto the center of the tawa and spread it in a circular motion to make a thin dosa.
  5. Drizzle some oil around the edges and cook on medium heat until the dosa turns golden and crispy.
  6. Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar for a nutritious and tasty meal.
